DescriptionMember of the Information Technology Shared Service management team responsible for directing the Information Technology Infrastructure functions including the management of two data centers, ensuring QinetiQ North Americas compliance with government rules and regulations and adherence to established processes and procedures. The VP, in addition to his or her functional management responsibilities, is responsible for developing and sustaining an environment conducive to achieving and sustaining QinetiQ North Americas reputation as a technology leader in the marketplace as well as an Employer of Choice. The Vice President, Infrastructure Operations is actively engaged in the formulation of those policies and procedures and establishing performance standards/metrics to evaluate Information Technology systems performance. She/he develops operations plans identifying the Information Technology infrastructure in support of QinetiQ North America applications to support the business plans. She/he provides leadership to the Infrastructure Operations organization for continual organization effectiveness and individual professional growth. The Vice President, Infrastructure Operations will design, develop and maintain all infrastructures to insure it meets the requirements of the business insuring information technology security. She/he directs the administration of company systems, storage, middleware and messaging infrastructure. She/he is responsible for determining current and future enterprise infrastructure needs and familiar with a variety of infrastructure and security concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Directs the administration of the local and wide area network (LAN/WAN), security infrastructure, voice mail systems, and all phone related equipment systems. She/he establishes overall strategy and procedures for systems, storage, middleware and messaging infrastructure and technologies. Ensures that these technologies support the companys IT needs. She/he is responsible for resource allocation, including budget and personnel. Requires no supervision. 

RequirementsEducational Requirements: 
Generally requires a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field. A minimum of 10 years related experience and progressive management experience. Advanced degree and professional certification preferred. Excellent written and oral communications are required. 
Typical substitution for education requirement: 4 years related experience substitutes for Associates Degree; 8 years related experience substitutes for Bachelors Degree. 
Job Requirements:
* Directs the planning, design, installation and on-going administration and maintenance of the company-wide storage, servers, voice and data networks as well as the security infrastructure. 
* Plans, coordinates and schedules feasibility studies and surveys, including economic justifications of proposed versus existing equipment and procedures. 
* Keeps informed of status of projects and makes recommendations as necessary. * Develops long-range plans 
* Creates annual budget for systems and storage infrastructure and manages to the approved budget
* Directs the personnel activities of Infrastructure managers
* Assists subordinate managers in assessment and training of personnel including establishing career paths
* Evaluates effectiveness of lower level management/supervisors. 
* Works through managers in setting and implementing standards, priorities and schedules.
* Develops personnel policies to increase productivity, teamwork, and quality of work. 
* Keeps informed of new developments and trends; makes recommendations to higher-level management on desirable additions or replacements. 
* Maintains contact with CSO department to plan and coordinate the most effective data, software, and hardware security and emergency procedures. 
* Ensures process and procedures are in place to enhance security and controls.
