Job title:Fixed Income Credit Analyst (VP) - Chemicals SectorDepartment:Global Fixed Income ResearchReporting to:Head of Basic sleeveNo. of direct reports:NoneLocation:New York or LondonDate:January 2009SummaryThe candidate must have a desire to pursue a career in fundamental credit research within a leading global asset management company.ResponsibilitiesAssume comprehensive fundamental and relative value analysis of chemical and pipeline companies in the bank loan, investment grade and high yield markets on a global basis (40-50 names), including:?Maintaining Current and Forward Ratings and RV recommendations on all covered names;?Identifying and analyzing under- or over-valued investment opportunities, including attending meetings/ conference calls with management, comprehensive forecasting models and formal written reports;?Periodic written updates on most important names within the sector, whether fair-, under- or over-valued;?Annual written updates on names that are considered fair-value and where there is little or no controversy;?Periodic industry reviews; ?Collaborate with other analysts in the Basic sleeve first instance, and also with other analysts on the global fixed income research platform, to support/enhance the analytical process; and?General data analysis using statistical techniques to help identify relevant macro/micro economic factors that can aid the forecasting process.Skills / Experience required?Excellent financial analysis and presentation skills based on both educational background and relevant job experience. Skills should include in-depth knowledge of appropriate industry factors. Relevant background would include professional accountancy qualifications and/or CFA/MBA and prior analyst experience (5-10 years), preferably in the chemical, pipeline or other industries in the basic sector space.
