SUMMARY: This position is responsible for typing documents and correspondence; compiling data and generating reports; sorting and distributing mail; maintaining files; updating informational databases; coordinating and interfacing with customers and co-workers by telephone, fax or email; any other duties or special projects as assigned. Work involves occasional non-routine assignments and requires judgment in the selection of standard procedures from among several that apply to the job. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing work and selecting appropriate methods to complete assigned tasks. Additionally, the position requires a great deal of attention to detail and information tracking. Other responsibilities as assigned. The environment is very fast paced and can at times be stressful.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Knowledge of high school subject matter such as mathematics, grammar, office equipment and business practices. Knowledge is normally acquired by four years of high school, a vocational school or equivalent.
Experience: 6+ months professional experience working in a dynamic and fast-paced office environment.
Computer: Basic computer skills, with a preference for Tyson#s Business Computer Systems, an understanding of the system features and how to use these features. The primary systems include the Product Availability System(PA) with windows and mainframe components, Sales/Inventory Management System (mainframe) and Order Processing System (ORP). Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel and Outlook.
Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, a clear, concise, and customer-focused communication style.
Special Skills: Must be proficient with 10-key data entry.
Position-Specific Requirements Working hours will be from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with 1/2 hour lunch. The position will also cross-train on other positions to help with vacation and sick leave coverage.
