Job Summary The Network Analyst is responsible for supporting a mixed vendor LAN/WAN environment including hands-on involvement with implementation and maintenance and TCP/IP.Essential Duties and Responsibilities •Understand and demonstrate the principles of the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values.•Support LAN and WAN hardware and networks to facilitate daily operations via Service Desk ticket assignments. Act as primary or escalation contact as appropriate.•Develop, prepare and distribute weekly and monthly network utilization reports.•Monitor and tune network elements for optimal performance.•Keep current with new technology by: following trade publications, attending classes, and hands-on experimentation.•Develop and maintain current documentation for the networking environment at all times.•Integrate new communications technologies into environment.•Responsible for prototyping and testing new technologies that might be a good fit for our environment, including recommendations for architectural changes..•Develop and implement training for team / department / companies as necessary.•Participate in and manage projects and exercises for disaster recovery.•Track, implement and modify IP Subnets and VLANs•Comply with policies and procedures as required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities •Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer science, Electrical Engineering or IS/IT related field.•Experience: Minimum three years Network Analysis/Operations and IP Networking. Protocol analysis experience preferred.•Language/Communication/Interpersonal: Ability to speak, read and write English. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the Company verbally or in writing. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team environment; works well with other departments and with vendors.•Analytical: Proven ability to apply technology and process solutions to business problems. Proven trouble-shooting and problem solving skills. Experience in a large inter-networking or distributed computing environment.•Technical: Hands-on experience and in-depth understanding of the following software: Visio, Microsoft Office Suite, TFTP Server. High-level understanding of OSI model, IP Sub-netting and VLANS. Hands-on experience with Firewalls, especially Juniper Netscreen series. Working knowledge of VoIP Telephony Concepts. In-depth understanding of Data Center design and maintenance and facility wiring design and implementation. In-depth understanding of TCP/IP, Cisco Networking hardware and IOS required. Working knowledge of Disaster Recovery concepts and applications.•Supervisory: N/A•Other: Familiar with a distributed Microsoft PC and Server environment, Microsoft Exchange, thin clients.Certificates, Licenses CCNA required, MSNA preferred.Work Environment Works in a clean, well-lit, well-ventilated, temperature controlled office area.
