Scope: Works closely with the DHS staff supporting DHS systems and operations. Incumbent will provide the support staff and senior leadership with Network Operations (NetOps) situational awareness on the DHS systems residing at Stennis Space Center as well as expert analysis to assist in determining operational mission impact and optimal courses of action. Provides the interface between SAIC support staff and the DHS support staff and system owners. The CO coordinates operational impact and priorities of scheduled and unscheduled events and anomalies among DHS and SAIC organizations to effectively aid command and control of the CO as it pertains to core DHS missions. Provides expert assistance to DHS and SAIC organizations in development of CO policy, guidance, procedures, and training; development and implementation of CO tools; systems and network planning, management, and operations; exercise planning, support, and participation. Briefs senior leaders and distinguished visitors on CO operations. Works under general supervision. Must possess the motivation and exercise the initiative, innovation, and action to follow through and build the CO into a Center of Excellence.
EDUCATION SKILLS: High school education or equivalent.
REQUIRED SKILLS: This position requires excellent and written communication skills. Must be able to work autonomously.
U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain a DHS SSBI, which is equivalent to a Top Secret Clearance. must have (EOD) Entry on Demand, equivalent to an Interim Top Secret prior to start date.
DESIRE SKILLS: 1+ years of related data processing experience. Knowledge of personal computer and server processes and network operations is preferred.
Previous Government experience desired. Technical school preferred.
