Job Description:
Responsible for successful maintenance of patient records and organizational and administrative operation of the Health Information Management Department. Oversight responsibility for operational aspects of department. Serves as resource for faculty regarding medical record content and regulatory requirements. Assures availability of the medical records at all times. The Privacy/Security Official is responsible for managing all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of and adherence to the organizations policies and procedures relating to the privacy of and access to patient health information in compliance with regulatory accreditation organizations, federal and state laws and the privacy practices.
Job Requirements:
Degree as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) from an accredited school. Previous hospital experience in all aspects of health information management functions. Knowledge of JCAHO and state regulations for both acute and skilled nursing facilities. Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner.
