Job Description
This engineer should be able create formal responses to in-scope project requests with solutions that both satisfy customer requirements and comply with existing Service Catalog standards. This role must also understand, effectively articulate, and defend the implications and impact that proposed architectural changes will have on the business (to technical and non-technical audiences). This position provides expert level research and analysis for planning, organizing, and managing corporate-wide security functions. Under minimal supervision, this role produces documented frameworks or architectures, which describe and are used to manage the implementation of technical security environments. This role researches developments in their assigned technology disciplines, determines business requirements, proposes changes, and develops migration and implementation plans as needed. Secondary responsibilities include Life-Cycle performance and capacity management for ABN AMRO's worldwide, external services complexes with emphasis on Firewalls and associated DMZ devices. This level of engineer will be responsible for analyzing performance reports and making recommendations, in accordance with Regional Security Design Engineers, on required capacity and performance related improvements. Must be able to configure lab equipment for testing and educational purposes. This engineer should have knowledge of the corporate security standards and where to find information on related topics.

Requirements

Computer Science relatedDegree and 9 to 12 years experience in operations and/or security implementation. Must have an excellent understanding of: Enterprise Firewall solutions (Nokia/Check Point, Netscreen, Pix), Caching and Proxy devices (Bluecoat, Netcache), Global and Local load balancing (F5, 3DNS, CSS, Alteon, Redline), SSL Acceleration (Alteon, F5, etc), Enterprise Management tools (Provider-1, Configuration Managers). Ideal candidate will have strong understanding of industry trends in all areas of Information Security. Experience working in 24 x 7 centers with complex, high transaction, high availability environments. In depth understanding of networking technologies, eg. Cisco routers and switches. Extensive and hands on experience with both physical and network/host level security. Must have excellent understanding and practical experience with firewalls, switches, and IP routing hardware. Must have excellent written and verbal skills. System Knowledge including ESP, ETMS, SMARTS and Infovista a plus. Must be able to team within and outside of the operations group. 

CISSP,CCSA/CCSE, ITIL- Version 2.
