Job Title: National Sales Operations Planner - Food/

Provide the leadership, guidance, analysis and direction as well as coordination between Simplot internal functioning groups in support of Foodservice Sales, FGHQ strategies, processes, planning, disciplines and standardization. Position responsibility also includes internal management of Simplot Military Foodservice business, both domestic and export. Working in cross functional manner with many support and management groups. Must be able to function and speak for National FS Director of sales when N.D.FS.Sales is not available and must be able to represent the FS group through forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, process, decision making and direction.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Provide essential sales analysis and reporting for sales management to include monthly sales menus, gap analysis, spending analysis and new product sales measurements. This would be in conjunction with the Business Partnering Group.
2. Coordinate Sales and operations planning between Area Sales offices, Demand Planning Group and Sales management as a continual process in the reporting and planning of monthly, yearly and multiple years volume, price and margin.
3. Provide direct link and coordination between Area Operations Managers and the Business partnering Group in an effort to provide necessary and standardized analysis for planning, spending and margin enhancement.
4. Develop planning process for sales planning and execution to ensure Field Sales alignment to Food Group Strategies, Goals & Objectives. Field sales, broker sales and regional accounts sales.
5. Interacts daily with other functional support groups including marketing in the development of promotions, new products, special projects. Actively attends meetings and speaks for National FS Director when he can not attend.
6. Internally manage and coordinate the Simplot Military sales efforts including both domestic and military export sales. This also encompasses managing our military broker and developing the military sales strategy. Work in cross function manner with all other Simplot internal departments in the coordination of military order/shipment process which is highly specialized.
Additional Responsibilities:
The person in this position would also be expected to sit in on FGHQ meetings with other departments and senior management as a proxy for the Foodservice National Director of Sales when needed. The FSPOM would also need to help develop and implement the overall FG strategy, sales plans and annual broker plans as well as its process. This would also include the tracking, budgeting and managing of the overall Foodservice Departmental budget. This role will e deeply involved on an ongoing basis with the system pricing/contract management application and with the ongoing pricing task force in an effort to reduce complexity, simplify our pricing processs and increase overall margin opportunities. This position will also be responsible for working with the Business Partnering group in the development of a customer profitability tool that will be standardized throughout the foodservice division. There will also be some necessary travel involved with this position including but not limited to military sales/training foodservice sales, meetings, trainings.
This position requires:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university (MBA desirable). Eight plus years related experience and/or training.
Candidate must have excellent financial and technical skills. Must also have extensive foodservice industry background and indepth working knowledge of the Simplot Food Group as well as its departments.
Strong technical, financial, communication, leadership, analyzing, team building skills are required. Abilities to work within Cross functional groups, work with multiple teams, travel, develop plans and think quick are essential.
