Performs a variety of laboratory specimen processing duties and reports data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Receives and processes specimens,accurately identifying and accessioning specimens in the Microbiology Department. Evaluates and solves problems related to collection and processing of bio-logical specimens for analysis.
Qualifications:
Specimen Processing: High school diploma and average typing speed of 40 wpm preferred. Experience in medical terminology and telephone technique preferred. Must have working knowledge of over 700 laboratory tests in the test menu.
Hours/Schedule:
40 hours. 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
