Job Description
This position reports to Director of Dining Service (or) Resident District Manager. Develops and implements the Marketing Plan and Budget or each fiscal year with the goal of increasing as well and retaining existing market share. Works with Chartwells staff members to ensure a quality program meeting and exceeding Corporate standards.
Recipe to Succeed:
Coordinate the marketing efforts of the campus dining services with the Business and Student Services Department to maximize revenues and customer participation. Works with the University marketing personnel to create joint campaigns increasing market share and campus awareness. Responsible for general public relations through participation in student organizations, administrative groups and campus community events and meetings. Coordinates local efforts with corporate merchandising and marketing initiatives. Plans and implements promotional efforts with vendors. Supervises implementation of Chartwells Communication, Help and Training Program (CHAT). Develops and updates local catering guides, dining services brochures and other related publications. Facilitates local implementation of Chartwells employee recognition program (Be-A-Star) Implements Chartwells merchandising programs. Monitors campus compliance with Chartwells Profiles in Good Taste signage Programs.(Includes training personnel about the proper use of Profiles signage.) Ensures that the campus/corporate goals are achieved within an established budget. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to communicate on various levels, to include management, customers, students and associates Strong interpersonal and customer/client skills Dynamic individual who can captivate an audience Supervisory, leadership and coaching skills Proficient computer skills to include various computer programs, such as Microsoft office programsWord, Excel and PowerPoint, email and the Internet
Necessary Ingredients:
BS degree in marketing or hospitality management or equivalent years of experience
Minimum of three (3) years experience in the Marketing field
Experience and/or knowledge of the Hospitality, Foodservice and/or Educational industries is strongly preferred
Knowledge of public relations and merchandising
Experience with sales
The ability to speak to large groups of students and faculty
Must be able to travel extensively in the specified region and work a flexible schedule, to include weekends
Must be able pass criminal background check
