Description 

 In this position, you will be responsible for research and development of future Network on Chip (NoC) architectures for ultra small form factor devices focusing on mobility, scalability, modularity and power efficiency with a long term goal of defining a new Intel platform franchise. You will be working across multiple disciplines within the labs and product groups to develop, drive and coordinate innovative research agendas around ultra-low power, reconfigurable, modular on-die interconnect architectures. 

 
 

 Qualifications 

 You should possess a Ph.D. with five years of experience or a Master of Science degree with eight years of experience. Additional qualifications include: 
- Expertise in SoC/NoC design, on-die communications mechanisms and network design 
- Background in network theory, synchronous and asynchronous design, modeling, simulation and analysis 
- Capability of making power, performance and space tradeoffs in a highly constrained physical environment 
- Knowledge of industry standard on- and off-die buses including OCP, AMBA, PCI Express, AHB, etc. as well as routing, transaction and transport protocols 
- Ability of working in an ambiguous environment delivering high quality research plans, objectives and schedules including papers, presentations and patents 
- Previous experience leading technical research projects 
- Broad background in system architecture 
- Broad background in computer architecture with specific experience in on-die interconnects, System on Chip (SoC) architectures, NoC issues including routing and router design, GALS, power, performance and area tradeoffs, clock distribution and asynchronous design 
- Experience in Intel? architecture would be an added advantage 
- Understanding of firmware and operating system implications would be an added advantage
