Purpose of Position:Development of electronics for next generation fuel dispenser and related applications incorporating multimedia, secure payment and control technologies.
Key Responsibilities:Development of processor-based electronics meeting industrial environmental standards for multimedia, control and secure payment applications in fuel dispensers and kiosks,
Work with marketing and manufacturing divisions of the company for concept through release of innovative new electronic subsystems,
Partner with international Gilbarco design teams to apply best engineering practices in the development of products with worldwide applications, with associated economy of scale cost reductions and highest quality,
Work with sustaining engineering division to support lower cost, higher quality and obsolescence re-designs for long life cycle electronics,
May involve limited domestic and international travel.
Key Achievements:
Academic Degrees/Backgrou:Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field with experience in electronics development,
Demonstrated ability to interpret and distill marketing and customer requirements in order to generate clear, structured engineering requirements and design specifications,
Solid experience in product development processes including design and project definition, development, testing, software and system integration, release, support, cross-functional and international team interaction, and on-time execution,
Proficient with microcontroller designs and digital circuit designs including but not limited to 32 bit microprocessors and related peripherals,
Required tool proficiency: schematic entry, digital timing closure, signal integrity, computer Excel, Visio, MS Project, etc and configuration management tools,
Experience in writing software and firmware required to functionally debug processor designs,
Experience with serial and networking communication technologies and circuit designs RS485, RS232, 10/100/1000 Ethernet, DSL, 802.11, etc.,
Experience with high speed digital design techniques and design for interference specifications EMC/FCC/CISPR,
Analog circuit design experience,
Experience with secure electronics enclosure design and methodology is a plus,
Familiarity with data encryption methods and semiconductors is a plus,
Experience with LCD and touch screen technology and interface requirements is a plus,
Exposure to IS intrinsic safety and UL/CE design requirements is a plus,
CPLD and FPGA design experience a plus.
