Position Summary: 

It is the responsibility of the Senior Database Marketing Analyst to lead a variety of projects extracting and analyzing large quantities of data for final presentation and to prepare ad hoc analytical database reports from primary and secondary research sources while providing excellent guest service.All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and Company policies, practices, and procedures, within the framework and intent of the MGM Grand Detroit Statement. 

 

Essential Functions: 

1. Prepares data to be used for the reporting of operational, financial, marketing and gaming-related analyses, statistical analysis, ad hoc reporting, database querying, and data enhancement.Assumes responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of data as well as data integrity. 

2. Researches, validates, and implements advanced statistical and data mining techniques that will be used to develop direct marketing programs. 

3. Designs and develop infrastructure for analysts and other departments to create reports and analyses. 

4. Analyzes processes and leads the development and testing of new solutions as well as documentation, training and set up of new assignments. 

5. Tests and corrects errors, and refines changes to database.Reviews and corrects programs.Reports any problems to the Database Manager. 

6. Modifies database programs to increase processing performance. 

7. Oversees day-to-day operations of research projects and special projects as assigned.Manages project work of licensed vendors and programmers as necessary. 

8. Acts as the liason between the MGM Grand Detroit and MGM MIRAGE database teams, ensuring department is compliant with all corporate policies and procedures. 

9. Promotes and maintains the highest level of customer service to all guests while staying alert to their needs. 

10. Responds effectively to guest inquiries related to MGM Grand Detroit and the downtown Detroit area providing excellent guest service. 

11. Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to management. Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft. 

12. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

1. 21 years of age or older. 

2. Bachelors degree in marketing, advertising or equivalent.

3. Two years experience in marketing, advertising, direct marketing or related. 

4. Experience with SQL Analyzter,Timeline, Showcase, AS400, Acres Slot Accounting, Cognos BI and/or similar query tools preferred. 

5. Experience in multi-tasking of projects and project management.

6. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Access and Power Point and Microsoft Project. 

7. Excellent guest service and hospitality skills. 

8. Strong analytical and listening skills. 

9. Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 

10. Ability to handle and maintain confidential information. 

11. Ability to function and act independently. 

12. Ability to work well with people, in a team environment, and to communicate effectively both writtenoral. 

13. Ability to function in a fast paced environment, under short time constraints, and within established deadlines. 

14. Ability to work a flexible schedule including extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
