Required Education: Candidate must have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or an IT related field; Additional experience and certifications may be substituted for BS degree.
Required Skills: Candidate must have the ability to work independently and as part of an IT operations team. Possess good communication, time management and organizational skills. Candidate must have the ability to communicate technical information to a wide audience of varying technical levels, both orally and in writing. Candidate must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in a UNIX environment running in conjunction with a Windows network operating system. Candidate must have a minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience with Veritas Volume Manager, NetBackup, Shell Scripting, Jumpstart Methodology, SAN/NAS technology (preferably EMC series), DNS, SMTP, Apache, Big Brother, NetScaler, etc.
Candidate must be viewed as a well-developed technical resource capable of handling moderately complex assignments. Candidate must have strong multi-tasking skills. All candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance quickly (60 days) if needed.
Desired Skills: It would be a plus if candidate is proficient with both Unix and Oracle; Has familiarity with U.S. Navy; IT related certifications; Experience with Solaris 8, 9, and 10 would be preferred, but not critical; Proficient experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook; Has good Customer Service skills.
