Job Description:

Provide administration of networking systems, equipment and materials, data communications, and locally installed computer equipment. Duties include new system installs, maintaining system operation, maintaining system security and performance, and troubleshooting of network-related problems. Provides technical and administrative support for the local area network. Perform related work necessary for successful completion of Information Services initiatives.

Job Requirements: 

Associate's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems. Three years of progressive information systems management experience (networking, PC/desktop supprot and IT Ssytesm) with one year in an administrative role. Experience with Cisco routers, switches and PIX firewalls required. CCNA desired. Microsoft certification (MCSE 2003) required. Experience in a healthcare institution preferred. 3-5 years experience with Active Directory required. Experience with VMWARE and SAN technologies required. Ability for abstract reasoning and a talent for explaining the abstractions in concrete terms. Detail oriented, good communication skills, demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines, and excellent customer service skills. Ability to persuasivley present recommendations and project plans orally and written. Ability to recognize, analyze, and resolve network problems.

Facility Information:

 On August 23rd 2002, The George Washington University Hospital moved all services from the old building at 901 23rd Street directly across the street to a brand new $96 million new facility. Over $20 million of medical equipment was purchased over the last 2-3 years. It was moved to the new hospital along with an additional $25 million in new equipment. The new hospital offers patients a long list of technological advances in medicine:
